Communities in Canada’s North are currently facing substantial challenges. The social economy offers tools to help these communities face these challenges. The Social Economy Research Network of Northern Canada was a network of university and college-based researchers and representatives of community based organizations, who partnered, to conduct research relevant to the social economy in Canada’s North.
Directed by Kelly Saxberg with the assistance of filmmakers across the Canadian Arctic, this short documentary was made to introduce some of the social economy innovators who are bringing change in northern communities.
